Lieutenant Kurt E. Beach


BIOGRAPHY:
Lieutenant Kurt Beach has been in state and local law enforcement for over twenty-five years. He has lived in and served the citizens of the Town of Smithfield as a dedicated and motivated Police Officer since January of 1988.  Previously he served as an Ocean Master in the US Merchant Marine and in 1985 began his law enforcement career as a Marine Patrol Officer with the Virginia Marine Resources Commission. Presently, LT. Beach is the department’s Lieutenant of Criminal Investigations and Crime Prevention Specialist.

Lt. Beach’s education includes graduation from US Maritime Academy at Piney Point Maryland, an Associate of Arts and Sciences Degree in Administration of Justice Specializing in Police Science from Paul D Camp Community College.  His continued education includes The Police Executive Leadership School through the University of Richmond and the Institute for Leadership School through Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Lt. Beach enjoys being active in his church and enjoys vacations to the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  He is happily married 28 years to his best friend Kathie and they have raised two children, Kurt 26 and Joy 21.He is an Organ Donor Beneficiary and a strong advocate for the Virginia Donate Life Organization.
